Mount Hood from Dog River TrailThis is the classic downhill near Hood River. The trailhead is about 20 minutes from town although most people do this as a shuttle ride from by starting at the Surveyor's Ridge trailhead on Highway 44 and ending at the Dog River trailhead on Highway 35.

For those looking for a full workout, start at the Dog River trailhead and ride up the trail. The trail is a consistent singletrack uphill. You'll climb for a good hour before the singletrack turns in to a dirt road. You can follow the road up to the Surveyor's Ridge Trailhead.

From the Surveyor's Ridge trailhead, take the singletrack downhill option for pure bliss. There are only a few technical spot on the trail.

This trail can be combined with Surveyor's Ridge to make for a long day.
