Post Canyon
Post Canyon is known for it's great singletrack and huge jumps. It's five minutes from Hood River to the start, but many people do a shuttle and focus on the downhill aspects of the trails.
The Post Canyon trail system refers to a bunch of interconnected trails with various access points. The best way to explore it is by starting at the bottom where Post Canyon road turns to dirt. There is also access from Riordan Hill Road and Binns Hill Drive.
Family Man
This is a great place to learn to ride bridges and logs. Family Man is a loop that starts where the singletrack trail from the bottom meets Riordan Hill Road.
Middle School
This is a short new section of trail with some easy table tops and other jumps. It can be done with Family Man as a quick loop.
Drop Zone
This is a short trail from Family Man down to the bottom of Post Canyon with some insane jumps.
Seven Streams
This a fun downhill from Riordan Hill Road back to Post Canyon Road. A great afternoon ride is to park at the bottom of Post Canyon, ride up to Family Man, and then ride Seven Streams back. It's a bit hard to explain, but after a couple of rides up there you'll figure it out.
8 Track
This is great downhill with some advanced man made features. It's being logged (summer 2008) so it's now closed.
ChorusX
This is the juice. Huge jumps with gaps make this section very camera worthy if you're willing to try them. This is the in the upper sections of Post Canyon and it's usually done as a shuttle in conjunction with the rides listed above. Continue up Riordan Hill Road or take Binns Hill Drive to get to the start.
2 Chair
This a section of trails on the upper end of Post Canyon that is seldom done due to all the uphill.
