The White Salmon River
The Lower Run
This is a great Class II beginner run. It has nice scenery, continuous rapids, great access, and and easy shuttle. You put in on the White Salmon at Husum and take out at at Northwestern Lake.
This run starts off with the most difficult rapid, Rattlesnake. It's basically a big uneven wave that will most likely flip beginner kayakers. Below here the river is continuous with easy rapids. This is a great place to practice eddy catching and ferrying.
The entire run is about 3 miles and the shuttle can easily be run if you throw some shorts and running shoes in your boat.
