Indian Creek Loop

3 miles, trail and road

This is a great quick loop close to town. This run starts with a nice uphill, goes through the Hood River Heights, and comes down a nice trail that follows Indian Creek an overlooks the Hood River. The directions are difficult to explain, but easy once you've done the run.

Quick Directions: Leave downtown and run up to the heights via Serpentine Road. Get yourself on 12th St and take a left on Union St (across from Shortt Supply). Run across a grass field and go down the trail. You'll follow Indian Creek for a while and then you'll follow the Hood River. When you hit pavement, head back to town.

Detailed Directions: Start at the corner of 2nd and Oak St at Discover Bicycles. Run West on Oak Street and take a left on 6th Street. You'll be going uphill and 6th street will turn into Serpentine and continue to head up. You'll run into Eugene St where you should take a right. Then go up to 4th and take a left. Follow 4th to Pine Street where you should go right and head toward 12th. Take a left on 12th and go a few blocks until you see Shortt Supply on the right. Take a left here on Union St and you'll see a grass field just before a big transformer station. Run across the grass field and follow the trail that parallels Indian Creek. You'll soon see the Hood River and be running along it for a while. The trails ends on a pavement road. Run about a hundred feet down the pavement and take a left. This road will take you back to Serpentine and you can head back to town.

For a five mile run, when you hit Serpentine Road, head back up and do the trail again before heading home.
